Percussionist David Nuss tested his physical limits with a drum performance. Performing solo for the first time, Nuss played until he was completely exhausted, surrounded by the audience and a camera which constantly revolved around him. For the curator of the Performances series, Mike Meiré, the aim of the performance was to not even attempt to avoid the risk of failure. To deliberately surrender to failure for once, to allow it, to accept it as a limitation and thereby come clean with oneself. To create a situation where it is possible to overcome the permanent control of the intellect over the body, to awaken the body’s memory.
